[GRLUG] Is ITT Tech a Good School?

This is a mouthful. There is an
obligation on the part of students
to try to learn something just as there
is on the school to give a stamp of
approval only to those it thinks did.

Thus the currently dreaded tests.
People of course hate them, but it's the
only realistic way a school has of knowing
whether someone learned anything, even
if that is only what is on the test. That is
at least something. Public school
teachers of course hate tests because
there is no where to hide if they don't
work out well. I put up with tests all
the way through college - and the
test rooms were monitored. I still can't
see any other realistic way to maintain
the quality of a school.

As for learning on the job, yes. If you
have a good job. Bigger companies
often provide ways to take either in
house or college courses now and then.
But all approaches depend on the student
caring about learning something, not just
getting by. Discipline is no longer a
school function. Courts actually frown
on it. If you want someone to whip you
in to action, get a dominatrix.
