I have never experienced an issue installing Management Studio.

And while it is easy to criticize the size... it is very comprehensive,
and includes administration from many aspects the typical [tiny] MySQL
site never even considers - such as the actual proper use of roles
(which I've never seen done on a MySQL install, journals, as well as
replication]

I you are going to manage M$ systems from a CLI you should study
PowerShell, now rather than later.  That is the sanctioned tool.
