It is my understanding you can do most SQL Server management from the
sqlcmd command line.  You can also probably use PowerShell to script
most things.  MS has been trying to improve their command line
support.  As usual they are doing it their own (hard) way, but they've
started to realize that admins need scriptable tools to manage large
numbers of servers.
