[GRLUG] Reprogramming monitor EDID from linux

I have a monitor that somehow lost it's EDID.  The monitor still works, but
it is now a nuisance to get the proper resolution set up because the OS
cannot probe it and detect the proper resolutions to use.  Has anyone ever
tried to reset the EDID on a monitor from Linux?  I have found some info on
attempting it from Windows, but would rather try from the an OS I am more
comfortable with.

Any info would be appreciated.
