No mention of how to tell the scanner where the pieces separate and
how. I don't really expect that to be as easy as shown.

First question: how much does the first one cost (set up overhead)

Second question: how much does the second one cost (materials and run time)

Of course, most items will be one of a kind. This could be really
great for producing prototypes from CAD drawings to see if something
will really work.
