[GRLUG] What is Linux ?

To me, Linux is the ability to ultimately control everything my
computer does. That's why I kept using it after the novelty of the
cool screensavers wore off.

I can't stand to use Windows for personal use, because it does things
I don't understand and can't easily find out. My computer was
purchased to service *me*, not hardware vendors, not content
publishers. Looking at "ps ax", I can tell you what every non-kernel
process is, why it's there, and even what Debian package it hails
from.

Try doing that while looking at the process list in Windows Task Manager.
