Depends entirely on what type of workload the server's doing.  Some
applications are memory hogs, some CPU intensive, some disk-intensive,
some consume bandwidth like it's going out of style.  Some don't scale
well on SMP systems, some are tough to spread across a cluster
(*cough* CIFS *cough*).  Most are combinations of a few of these.
