[GRLUG] Meetup alternatives

Hey all,
I just started helping out on the organization of a Meeetup group, and
am astonished at the price that meetup.com is charging.  I want to
look for a cheaper/free alternative.  There doesn't seem to be too
much out there.  I have found meetin.org but I haven't looked deep
into this.  Even using dreamhost is cheaper, and a possibility if
there is a software package out there.

What Meetup alternatives have you used and which ones would you recommend?
