[GRLUG] sound issues RESOLVED

I try to compile as much into my kernel as possible, my goal being `lsmod`
returning nothing. I like the fact that I don't have to worry about modules
being loaded and the increased speed I get. Plus I get the added security
that comes with the confidence that modules on my boxes can never be loaded
and or tampered with. All that is to say that, with v. alsa-1.7* I found
that the utils package would not work unless the package was compiled as a
module when I created my kernel. So the system is not without its flaws and
Topher and Godwin have pointed out.

Got Gentoo?
It usually takes more than three weeks to prepare a good impromptu speech.
