[GRLUG] Mail server setup help needed

Well, internally I use
cyrus-imap/imp-horde/postfix/spamassassin/anomy/clamd/postgrey along
with some serious dns blocking and a daily updated list of domain
blocks injected into postfix.

I use "zoneedit.com" at home and "ez-update" on debian for dynamic dns
and setup squirrelmail once (a loooooong time ago). I can't/won't
travel, but can help with what I can over the grlug list - as well as
many others here - as you've seen. First, decide which smtp and
pop/imap services to run. I hear that qmail and exim are lightning
fast, but complicated as hell to setup. Cyrus-imap is pretty cool
too. With Horde/IMP you can use Cyrus-IMAP's "sieve" scripting so
your users can configure their own "vacation reply, filters, forwards"
etc. over the web interface. Cyrus and postfix also support users
from a MySQL db, but my attempts (two years ago) always resulted in
unmatched data coming back. DB's are not my strong suit. ;-)

Blah, blah. Blah, blah. Blah, blah, blah, blah... Okay, 2am,
enough babbling...
