Stack Based Attacks in Linus            by Bryce Meyer

"Stack overflows in linux": tools, methods, & vulnerabilities.
32bit and 64bit linux has become an arms race between:

 "methods to exploit software missteps"

        vs

 "operating system and x64 methods"

to stop them.

We'll cover:

   - how holes get in,
   - compiler switches,
   - an intro to return oriented programming,
   - shellcode, and
   - mitigation like "stack canaries".
