I'll be frank: the Wikipedia of today is not the Wikipedia you donated to
a year ago.

As the world changes around us, Wikipedia does too. Volunteers from around
the world have been working around the clock to collaborate with each
other remotely, in an open and decentralized environment. There are
currently 5,200 COVID-19-related articles in over 175 languages that have
been viewed more than 400 million times, a number that reflects
Wikipedia's position as a major global knowledge source.

Wikipedia has been called to map knowledge as it develops and provides
each of us with a clearer understanding of today's world. Each day, major
search engines depend on us to verify sources and provide fact-based
information that is neutral and accurate. At a rate of 1.9 edits per
second, hundreds of thousands of volunteer editors are editing Wikipedia
and as we continue to grow, we have a responsibility to ensure that
Wikipedia remains a safe place to share, innovate, and find common ground.

Please join this special, virtual event to learn just what makes Wikipedia
