I can highly recommend the HP Envy - Intel or AMD, .. full HD screen, ..
thin and light (no optical drive - who needs it), .. lighted keyboard, ..

Got a quad core A-10 last year, love it! Only ONE very minor gripe - the
right-click on the touchad is really touchy.
