Riddle - why would ncurses display correctly on one machine, but not
another?

	TERM 		xterm
	TERMINFO	<blank>
	encoding	utf-8
	Locale Settings
	  for user root	ctype only
	Detailed Locle
	  Settings	en_US

Accessing both via ssh from the same workstation.

Only difference between them - one is the Host, one is a VM. XFCE
installed and running on both:

/usr/bin/X :0 -auth /var/run/lightdm/root/:0 -nolisten tcp vt7 -novtswitch

Suggestions?
