Nope, I want to leave it there.

I figured out how to do what I want.

I mounted the Linux partition on my platter drive as /home on my SSH.

Then I set my personal account's homedir to /home/home/topher

Once I'm happy with the setup I'll simply move ~topher on the platter
to / and then it'll just be /home
