Yes exactly.... You can get ones with sides for appearances but generally
it is not needed. On a hard level surface it won't need bolting down
though braces to the wall might be helpful for wiring and to prevent
sliding.
Also national electric code requires the rack to be grounded (bonded) to
the main electrical service ground...any electrician can do this if you
choose to do so.
