[GRLUG] linux friendly print/scan server device?

I've got a laser printer (parallel, I have a usb->parallel adapter)),
a multifunction inkjet/scaner (usb), and a flatbed scanner (scsi, but
I have a usb->scsi adapter). The most convenient place for this is on
the opposite side of the room from where my main workstation is.

Previously, I had a PII with a basic debian install with said devices
connected, running cups and sane, so as to facilitate printing and
scanning over the network.

I have since replaced this with an R-Pi, but for some reason it keeps
crashing. (Yes it has separate powered usb hub for all the USB stuff.
It has a 1000mA power source for the R-Pi itself, and both are on a
UPS)

I'd really prefer a solid state device rather than a PC with drives
and fans - I'd like it quiet and low power.

What I'd *really* like to do is replace this with an inexpensive
device like one of these:

*BUT* I can't seem to identify one of these types of devices for which
the scanning function is either compatible with SANE-net, or even
allows scanning from a web browser - everything seems to support
scanning only with the included proprietary windows-only tool (some
support Macs too).

If anyone knows of anything like these that doesn't require windows
for scanning, I'd love to hear about it.
