[GRLUG] globbing

I've recently encountered an issue
with globbing on my web hosting site.

The problem is that any attempt to
use wild cards when I try to, for example,
delete a bunch of files on the hosting site
results in an error saying "out of memory
while globbing."

In parenthesis it then suggests  "This probably
means 'Permission denied.' "

Permission to glob?

I can, for example, delete files one at a time,
by typing in the entire name - i.e., no wild cards.

Nor does it appear to have to do with the
number of files - no globbing even with one file.

Any suggestions here?

I'll ask the web host provider as well....
