My colleague recently had a run-in with rm:

Thankfully, we have good backups.
Unfortunately, one of the databases lost was only backed up daily (it
is now backed up hourly).
Luckily, I was able to recover the most important tables up the second
by digging around in the ext3 journal. :-)
