I believe there is a NAT configuration for IPv6; but there really isn't
any reason to use it.

Nope, it is no security issue at all.

Who said the IPv6 address would be "publically addressible" - you'll run
a firewall device - just like you do now.  Nothing to see here folks,
move along.
