[GRLUG] gedit crash problem

I'm having a problem with gedit. It's crashing each time I close
it--discovered this when I would try to close one gedit window of
several that were open. But now I have abrt (Automatic Bug Reporting
Tool) activated and I'm getting a crash report even when I only have one
gedit window open and close it. (Fedora 15)
I thought it a bug and did a bug report
(https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=666653). When I sent in a
stack trace they decided it was a bug in something called pygobject and
suggested I upgrade to Fedora 16. But I don't have time now to hassle
with another upgrade, so I'm trying to find out why the bug hasn't been
fixed in Fedora 15. I posted to ask.fedoraproject.org but I'm not
getting anywhere
(http://ask.fedoraproject.org/question/809/pygobject-bug).
I've just discovered that when I use gedit as a different mundane user
and when I use it has root, this crash problem does not occur. I can
open multiple gedit windows and close one without causing a crash. So
I'm not sure that it in fact has anything to do with a bug in pygobject
but rather with something about my installation.
I've tried removing and reinstalling gedit, but that doesn't help.
Any ideas what a useful next step would be?
Thanks.
