[GRLUG] SSH to Raspberry Pi

I am having trouble getting access to my Raspberry Pi and I'm wondering if
some of you genuinely smart people can help me out. I have a Model B
(256MB) running Raspian that I downloaded and installed no more than a week
ago. I'm having a little trouble getting a VNC connection over LAN even,
but I'm not particularly concerned there yet. I am late to the game so I
just learned about PuTTY this past weekend and was seriously celebrating
when I found it.

I am able to use PuTTY to connect via SSH from my windows box over the LAN
so I know I am talking over the network. I have the windows box currently
running the No-IP updater and have a hostname at no-ip.org. I have used
this hostname before to VNC into other boxes and even RDP into my Windows7
machine, so I know it's working. I have port 22 forwarded to the Pi's LAN
ip in my router, but any time I try to use PuTTY from elsewhere to connect
I get "Network Error: Connection Timed Out".

Any ideas what I'm doing wrong?
