Did you already have Firefox running locally when you started the
'remote' Firefox?  It may have just opened a new local Firefox windows
since it detected you already had and instance of "Firefox" in your X
session;  this is a pretty normal, and occasionally annoying,
application-singleton thing [apps that don't want you to run more than
one instance so they redirect your start requests to an already running
instance].
