I just looked at apt-spy info at

    https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/apt-spy/+bug/1780

It looks like work was abandoned on it around 2007. What benefits does
apt-spy offer that overcome the objections mentioned on the blog?
(and, what does it do in the first place that we don't have from other
methods?)
