Enough that ssh works great, email works great, all general web
browsing is fine.
2G, dial-up speeds. ssh is jittery. Anything else is "hope it finishes
downloading before I get bumped to another tower."
While I was running mtr while tethered and driving through TN/KY/GA
last weekend, I was amused that T-Mobile's network attempts to
guarantee delivery of ICMP echo; when I had good signal, it'd be
something like 100ms ping times. If I lost signal, I wouldn't see
anything, but when I got it back, the missing responses would flood
in.
