I'd always recommend Cisco routers and switches. Their IOS operating
system and interface are well known, well documented, and common across
most of their devices. With other OEMs one never knows what kind of
admin interface or syntax you'll have to muddle through.

I believe the entire Cisco 29xx series are fully-capable IOS based
switches. [I could be wrong, since they purchased Linksys they have
polluted their product line with some lower-function gear].

On a Cisco IOS switch -
write erase
reload
- should do the trick of putting it back to factory defaults. You just
have to get into admin mode first.
