It should be noted that while Virgin uses Sprints tower, and Sprint does own
Virgin Mobile USA, Virgin Mobile devices do **not** use Sprint's data or
voice services.
Virgin's devices nearly always underperform by a wide margin, when compared
to Sprint's devices.
(You can verify this yourself, if you run a speed test on a Virgin Mobile
and Sprint device next to each other. Because they use different backend
networks, even though they technically use the same towers, the performance
will be totally different.
In my experience, a Sprint device has always clocked in between 2 to 12
times faster data speeds than a Virgin Mobile device, regardless of location
and/or signal strength.
(There's a reason Virgin's unlimited data plan is $25/month, and Sprint's is
$80+/month.)
