"Building Operations Computer System" Building automation project using Linux.

The system will have the following functions.

1. BÖCSy is the main central controller for all membership/staff ID
cards. BÖCSy stores all of the user data in a secure fashion and
allows for authorized persons to maintain and edit user data and the
main database.

2. BÖCSy interfaces with the point of sale systems at the admissions
desk and controls rank and rate data for members.

3. BÖCSy runs the point of sale system in the gift shop and cafe.

4. BÖCSy runs the tool room checkout system and manages the inventory
for tools, materials, and parts supplies.

5. BÖCSy handles the scheduling for the rotating classrooms and heavy equipment.

6. BÖCSy handles scheduling and allocation of AV studios and equipment.

7. BÖCSy controls the HVAC system (and thermal mapping).

8. BÖCSy controls the security and access system.

9. BÖCSy controls the streaming video feed system.

10. BÖCSy interfaces strongly with the main website and allows members
to do such things as apply credit to their cards, or purchase things
in the online store with their Geek Group ID card.

11. BÖCSy controls lighting throughout the building.

12. BÖCSy controls electricity and power monitoring (think industrial
kill-a-watt) throughout the building.

and much, much more. BÖCSy is the "Ship's computer" for our lab.

This will be an epic project, that is already well underway, and will
encompass the work of hundreds of members over many years to come.
