Haven't bothered with the link; but the distinction is simple - routers
do not use DNS. The device that is your router may also be a DHCP
server in which case it will announce the configured DNS servers to
devices on your network [which is part of DHCP configuration]. But the
*router* does nothing with them.
It is confusing to many people since their router / firewall / and DHCP
server [ or RA in the case of IPv6] are the same physical device; that
doesn't mean there is any intimate relationship between those
subsystems
