[GRLUG] Free BSD and Free NAS

I've been using FreeNAS for about a year. Love it. Intel Atom, 1gb, cf
card, ide adapter, software raid - running iTunes music server, cifs, nfs,
afp, iscsi, ssh and bittorrent client. The dlna/upnp seems to crash (with
every version I've used) whenever I connect from my Samsung TV, but my
friend streamed to his Xbox just fine with his (not the embedded version of
FreeNAS). Every other service seems quite stable.

The new openmediavault (debian based) - by same developer looks nice, but no
release yet. That said, Qnap and/or Synology make about the coolest
products out there. Both linux based and their firmware covers every need.
