[GRLUG] ebook distribution system

He guys, 

A friend has asked on open-source ideas for a ebook distribution system. She 
works in a K-12 school system and wants to gather ideas for how she might do 
this. She has alot of software that is windows or mac based so she's thinking 
about the server-side. What services could she run to distribute ebooks and 
other educational software?
