I don't remember it correcting my command and running anyway.

Running at the command line, one must be more careful.  You don't get the
"do you really want to delete this file?" message with rm for example that
you get with gui.  However, I will admit that I've frequently gotten the
command not found message.  Guess I'm glad that's all I get.  I suppose
I've been lucky.
