If it's still in print, I suggest the
book "The Art of Electronics,"
by Horowitz and Hill. Cambridge
U. Press. It was a runaway success
20 years ago, and is still current.
It was even used successfully to
teach "poets" something about
electronics, but will educate people
with a wide variety of backgrounds.
I have the 2nd edition - the last I
believe - if it proves hard to find.
