Non-LTS versions of Ubuntu have 18 months of support for upgrades,
patches, etc. LTS versions have three years of upgrades for the
desktop version, five years for the server version. So for someone
averse to upgrades, sitting on a LTS version instead of a non-LTS
makes the most sense.
