Low power consumption, for a magnetic hard disk. It's my understanding that they don't run at the standard 5600 or 7200 rpm seeds, but "somewhere" between them. (Perhaps there's a bit of tolerance leeway allowing less cost in manufacturing, too. Dunno.)
We're using a few Caviar Greens in a RAID5 at work, and while they get the job done, they do it a bit slower than a drive intended for quick random access.
