Nope, I was wrong.  I don't see it so far without XGL enabled.  Also XGL
crashes when I open the WMOGAG master document in OO writer,  which
seems oddly specific.  But at least the system nicely falls back to
non-3d-accelerated desktop and I don't loose any apps.
