It is not a triumph of form over substance. It is an attempt to
organize the substance so as to aid the reader in following a series of
posts. You seem to not understand that following previously
standardized guidelines for communication via the internet actually
improves the quality of the communication. This is not a matter of
personal preference or someone's pet peeve; it is an attempt to improve
the flow of communication.

You seem to give a rip.
"Intermixing" enables one to follow the post. For example there are a
few different paragraphs in this post to which I have responded.
Rather than lump everything at the end, I have interspersed my comments
after your comments (hence, bottom-posting, as opposed to end-posting).
Again, this is to enhance the flow of the conversation. Think of it as
(in this case) three streams of a conversation printed at the same time.
