[GRLUG] FireFTP permissions error

At the risk of being told Ed is out of the office, does anyone else
have difficulty with browsing one's home directory with FireFTP on
Ubuntu?

I get a "You do not have the appropriate permissions or directory does
not exist." error, and Google hasn't been any help.

*all* directories in $HOME are CHMOD 755, and I've gone through all of
FireFTP's settings, and found nothing relevant.
