Image-based trackers, javascript bugs, stupid configuration options.
My resolution at home is 109 dpi, and I use larger-than-average font
sizes.  Idiots who think they know something about CSS make many
websites out there difficult to read.  I've also read emails from
idiots who had their default font size set to 10 pts for HTML email,
again making it difficult to read.

HTML email has its place.  There are two services for which I enable
HTML email.  But technical mailing lists are not one of the places
where it should be used.
