If you're running Ubuntu, add the following lines to your /etc/sources.list:

# Bleeding edge wine packages (packages)
deb http://wine.budgetdedicated.com/apt dapper main

# Bleeding edge wine packages (sources)
deb-src http://wine.budgetdedicated.com/apt dapper main

# apt-get update
# apt-get install wine

To change wine settings like the virtual drives it presents to Windows
apps, what sound driver it uses, and DLL overrides, run: (not
nescessary most of the time - Wine detects a lot automatically)

$ winecfg

Then simply download the Windows Firefox installer, and double-click
it as if you were running Windows. The installer will pop up, next
next next, finish. Done. Wine will even plop a link onto your
Desktop for you.
