Ok... so my wife downloaded Napster the other week so she could download music to workout to. She downloaded some tunes and was
ready to move them to her Sony mp3 player.

All the files are wma, no problem, I'll just convert them to mp3. No can do though, none of the wma files will convert using any
of the windows based tools. So I thought I'd give it a shot on my Kubuntu box. Nope, still won't work.

I know it is illegal to discuss or share the idea of how-to convert a DRM based wma to a non-DRM based non-proprietary format, but
this is absolutely ritarded. If you purchase music you should be able to play it wherever you want.

I know I will be urging all of my family members to avoid Windows Media Player 10, Napster and any other DRM ingrained pieces of
software out there.

Meanwhile, my wife is very very upset. She's not a technical person and she was trying to do this on her own without bugging me.
She has no idea what DRM is and she had no idea why things *wouldn't work*. She was just a confused and frustrated end user. I'm
sure M$ just assumed that she'll go buy a new windows-based media player rather then reusing the mp3 player she already has. But I
give M$ the bird on this one, and I will strongly advocate to those around me to not buy that crap.
