I just called Comcast. The letter has been/is being sent to all
Comcast customers. She assured me that my connection will not be
interrupted (though the letter says my connection will be). It seems
the issue that Comcast is really concerned with is some are using
static addresses for Comcast servers. Since these IP addresses can
(and, it appears, will) change, they want those who rely on Comcast's
DNS servers to not have an interruption in their service. I
specifically asked if using non-Comcast DNS servers is a problem. She
indicated it is not. Since I am not using their DNS servers, I should
not have any trouble.
