[GRLUG] Hardware changes

The OS is Mandriva. Running the
"configure your computer" package
works fine. The problem is that
after detecting and configuring the
Ethernet, it's gone the next time
I boot up. Have to do it all over again.
So I'm assuming that
whatever modifications that get made
during an install don't get made on
a permanent basis when doing things
this way.
