[GRLUG] wep in linux

Cornerstone uses WEP on their wifi network, and on all the student's 
windows machines it's encrypted, so they don't know it.

They won't give the key to any Linux users because ifconfig just spits the 
key right out there.  Anyone know of a way to keep it hidden, even from 
root?

I know this sounds anathema, but that's the way things stand.  :(
