<div dir="ltr">Crunchbang is a really good distro for ease of installing a fairly minimal system. You can go from the ground up with a server-based distribution and have something very good, but it is a bit more time-consuming.<div>

<br>
If you really want to start small and work your way up, start with<br>
ubuntu-server and install the packages you want.<br>
