Hey Kevin,

Not stuck on the HP version and just did some searching on the bay to find this Linksys version for $50.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Cisco-Small-Business-SR2016-16-Port-Gigabit-Switch-/290659833184?_trksid=p4340.m1374&_trkparms=algo%3DPI.WATCH%26its%3DC%252BS%26itu%3DUCC%26otn%3D15%26ps%3D63%26clkid%3D5865217037103381924#ht_658wt_1132

This looks like a better deal for me.

That looks like an acceptable alternative. I personally don't have a lot of faith in Linksys; I've had all sorts of Linksys stuff just mysteriously go belly up, but this is a Cisco/Linksys small business switch, and I'd hope they have better QC than the consumer-level stuff.

Also, since there's no "buy it now" on that switch, I suspect you'll end up paying far more than $50 if you can even win the auction.

-Kevin
