I have a Motorola amp that works great on comcast for video but I too had a service tech tell me that it doesn't help data at all.

Sent from my Verizon Wireless 4GLTE smartphone

----- Reply message -----
From: "Bob Kline" <bob.kline@gmail.com>
To: "Mailing List for LUG in greater Grand Rapids, MI area." <grlug@grlug.org>
Subject: [GRLUG] Slightly OT - Charter Service
Date: Thu, Sep 1, 2011 7:20 pm

I had a service guy tell me years
ago that you, the customer, cannot

boost the data signal with an amplifier.

The company can attenuate the signal,

and this sometimes needs to be done

Anyone else have packet loss on the charter network? Seems to come and go. It has been doing this off and on for the last few months. Will be find for 4-5 days, then i'll have packet loss all day... After that day it will be fine again for 4-5 days, then 30-50% packet loss...
Has anyone tried to hookup Charter with more than one or two cable drops? I'd like to switch here, but we have four cable drops (and I would like to add two) - there seems to be no way to get enough signal for the cable modem. Tried a Leviton distribution amplifier, but it DNW with digital cable..
