<div><meta charset="utf-8">It's really a matter of time and priorities. In my case, I rarely attend the Saturday Socials since my son stopped taking naps. Saturday and Sunday are the only days I have a block of time greater than 90 minutes to spend with him, so I like to take advantage of that. Weeknights are also bad since I'm involved in many other groups. I try to limit myself to one weeknight meeting per week on average for similar reasons to those above.<div>
<br></div><div>What would work better for me is a social meeting later at night, say 8PM or later. The kid is in bed, and I'm usually just watching TV (though I should be working on other projects). For me, an hour or so away from home at that time would be productive.</div>
<div><br></div><div>A glance at the CoNGA-WM event calendar indicates that Tuesdays or Wednesdays would work best. Some discussion in the GRLUG IRC channel shows Wednesdays as the best.</div><div><br></div><div>So join us at the new GRLUG Saturday Afternoon Social, now being held on Wednesday evenings at Kava House Kentwood!</div>

Lately, regular Saturday Social participation has been somewhere south<br>
of five people, with only two or three (at most) there at overlapping<br>
periods. Individual time and travel constraints have been getting in<br>
the way, and without enough people, the incentive to go somewhere for<br>
interesting conversation is really, really poor.<br>
