Hi Mike --<div><br></div><div>I do expect to be there on a </div><div>more regular basis - illness </div><div>today, not lack of interest.</div><div>I can understand your frustration.</div><div><br></div><div>But as Casey said before, you can</div>
<div>play the when and where game until</div><div>you're blue in the face. It likely </div><div>won't change anything - it never has.</div><div><br></div><div>I think part of the reason recently</div><div>is simply winter. I do plan to make</div>
<div>it at least every other Saturday, and</div><div>probably more going forward. But</div><div>your job is a thankless one, as </div><div>something like anchoring an event </div><div>always is. Maybe you want to try</div>
<div>something like first and third Saturday</div><div>of the month for a while, just so you're</div><div>not needlessly tied down. Maybe </div><div>hack off an hour at the end. Or even</div><div>two hours if no one shows by then.</div>
<div>People can at least let you know they</div><div>plan to show.</div><div><br></div><div>I do enjoy the events when I do show</div><div>up, and have more issues I'd like to </div><div>explore with people there.</div>
<div><br></div><div>Anyway, thanks for your efforts to </div><div>date. Helping techies to be social is</div><div>not the easiest challenge in the world at</div><div>best.</div><div><br></div><div>All just IMHO of course.</div>

Turnout has been really low for quite some time, and I'm starting to<br>
lose interest in anchoring.<br>
<br>
In order to get more folks to come by, I've got two ideas:<br>
<br>
1) Move to some other location, to shake up the choices of whether or<br>
not to go by reason of distance.<br>
2) Only hold the social once per month, so that folks can plan for a<br>
more precise date/time on their calendar and arrange to have that<br>
free, if they choose.<br>
<br>
Does anyone have a locale they'd find more convenient? Ideally,<br>
there'd be free wireless, quiet enough to hear each other talk, and<br>
nobody would mind a group of geeks loitering for a few hours.<br>
