are you set on Core 3, I downloaded Core 4 a few weeks ago, I'm having some problems, but mine are different, anyway, I just wonder if Core 4 might work better for you. Also, Core 5 is to be out anytime now. I know the Complete Core 5 book comes out next week, it probably comes with a DVD.<br>

i tried the boot options "acpi=off" and "noapic" and then tried "ide=nodma"<br>

even tried all three together, didn't do it, but thank you none the less<br>
<br>
if i586 will work i will try to force the kernel<br>
